• Capitalize on our beautiful natural resources to bring world ranked speed skaters, and related press to Rochester.
• Heighten the profile of speed skating in Rochester and beyond.
• Raise funds and awareness in support of two worthy causes:
- The Gliding Stars, www.glidingstars.org organization which provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to increase their personal potential through the development of ice skating skills.

The Rochester Speed Skating Team, www.rochesterspeedskating.org which offers a positive environment in competitive athletics and assists local athletes who to desire to pursue speed skating to the highest level.
• Grow this premier speed skating marathon into a recurring, multi-year event of world renown.
• Support high-performance speed skating excellence at the international level.
• Encourage native Rochestarians to engage in an exciting winter event and enjoy the season.
