BRING YOUR SKATES!
The Rochester Speedskating Team and The Gliding Stars are excited to host Skate the Bay, an annual event that brings world-class speedskating to Irondequoit Bay.
Cheer on or compete on February 7th & 8th as Rochester becomes part of the international marathon circuit . There will also be 1km and 5km races and casual skating for those of all levels.

DIRECTIONS TO THE TRACK
Sand Bar Park is located on Lake Road on Irondequoit Bay in Webster, New York. The proximity of State Route 104 to Webster allows motorists the convenience of being able to travel to and from downtown Rochester, or the Greater Rochester International Airport, within a time frame of 15 to 25 minutes.

Speed skating is the fastest known self propelled sport in the world where participants can reach speeds of
35-40 MPH. It is also recognized as the top winter Olympic sport in the USA history with 75 Olympic medals since 1924. Most recently, in the 2006 winter games in Torino, Italy, speed skating won the most total medals for the USA. Come and see for your self what marathon speed skating is all about.
